Starbucks and more…

It has been at least three weeks since I’ve posted anything. Well, probably longer since I’ve been working at Starbucks for the last three weeks. It’s a great job. Pay isn’t good, but the visibility with people is amazing. I don’t think I’ve tried to learn so many names in three weeks, EVER! I’m starting to get some of the early morning crowd, but other than that, I think it will be a while before I know every name and drink…

Church life is great! Extremely difficult, time consuming and exhausting, but great! I don’t know how Paul did it. Actually, I do know. I just haven’t figured out how to allow God to run my life yet. His words still ring in my ears though. “For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do-this I keep doing…For in my inner being, I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisioner of the law of sin at work within my members.”

And it is in the next two verses of Romans 7 that I can grasp hold of some glimpse of hope, clinging to the God of creation:
What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God-through Jesus Christ our Lord!! So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God’s law…
