The countdown has begun…We are moving at the end…

The countdown has begun…We are moving at the end of the week, but you really can’t tell by the state of our upstairs. The walls are bare, but other than that, it’s still liveable. And as the excitement and anxiety multiply exponetially, we continually remind ourselves to dwell in the heart of God. Distractions come easy at times like this, hence our deep need to return to the comfort and familiarity of our Father in heaven.

Goodbye’s are often hard and seemingly for good, but we know better. God has big plans for northern Colorado. As we speak, he is preparing the fields, tilling the soil.

Bring us back, Father, full of your wisdom, knowledge and experience. Make us humble servants in all that we do. Bring us to our knees. Work mightily in our overwhelming weakness. Make our hearts pure and holy. Lead us and the people in Savannah, Texas to your thrown. We love you! Thanks.

As with most things in life, I needed a little bit of change. It was time for a new look. I trimmed my facial hair a little shorter…and I changed the look of our blog…

Anyone seen the movie, Facing the Giants? Pretty good flick. Not quite as good as The Second Chance or End of the Spear, but still a good movie to have around. Especially if you’re like us, about to have non-Christian people in your home most days out of the week…

Here’s another great thought from Simply Christian. “Christian holiness is not (as people often imagine) a matter of denying something good. It is about growing up and grasping something even better. Made for spirituality, we wallow in introspection. Made for joy, we settle for pleasure. Made for justice, we clamor for vengence. Made for relationship, we insist on our own way. Made for beauty, we are satisfied with sentiment.”

God has called us to be apart of a new life, NOW. Not something that happens when we “get to heaven.” The Christian life is so much more than we are willing to allow. If that weren’t true, why would Christ have said, “I have come that they might have life, and live it more abundantly?”

Thank you all for your prayers. Thanks to a bit o…

Thank you all for your prayers. Thanks to a bit of encouragement from my wife, I was able to find a job. Now, we are still shooting for full support, Lord willing. So, yet again, the seemingly most often tested fruit of the Spirit, patience, will be my secondary job for a while.

Move date is March 3-4. Boxes are piling up, shelves are being emptied and junk we don’t need is happily finding its way into the dumpster. Prayers, as always, are solicited, and yes, as all missionary families do, we are raising our own support. As far as all that goes, we gldly welcome any prayers we can get.

An amazing passage in Daniel 3 has un-officially become our theme verse. Here’s a little taste.

“If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the furnace of blazing fire; and He will deliver us out of your hand, O king. But even if He does not, let it be known to you, O king, that we are not going to serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up.”

Same for us. If God shows or not, we’ll continue to place our trust, hope and confidence in Him because he has repeatedly reminded us that, “I AM.”
